Samsung is preparing to introduce its first tri-folding phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, by the end of the year. Recent leaks have revealed details about the device’s user interface and multitasking capabilities. The Galaxy Z TriFold is set to feature a 10.1-inch internal foldable display, allowing users to operate multiple apps simultaneously. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold series, which supports three apps with two occupying only 25% of the screen, the Galaxy Z TriFold will enable three full-sized app windows side by side through a feature called ‘Split Trio,’ expected to launch with One UI 8.5.
Additionally, the device will mirror the content of its cover screen across its internal foldable screen, displaying three home screens for enhanced productivity. Users will have the option to disable this mirroring if preferred. The Galaxy Z TriFold is anticipated to run Android 16 and One UI 8.x upon release, with a commitment to receive seven major Android OS updates, aligning with the offerings of other premium Galaxy phones.
