Has Microsoft released the Windows 11 25H2 ISO?

Microsoft has officially released the ISO media for Windows 11 version 25H2, marking the final stage before its general availability in the coming weeks. Users can now upgrade or install this version using the official installation media available through the Windows Insider Program website. Although initially delayed, the ISO is now ready for non-Insider PCs and is approximately 7GB, varying by language.

The official release date for Windows 11 version 25H2 remains unannounced, but it is anticipated soon, possibly later this month or early October, aligning with Microsoft’s usual update schedule. Having undergone testing since June, the version has progressed through the Insider Dev, Beta, and Release Preview channels. With the ISO available, the next step is general availability via Windows Update.

Version 25H2 introduces no new features compared to 24H2, as both share the same platform release and receive updates together. However, updating to 25H2 resets the support timeline, offering 24 months of support for Home and Pro editions and 36 months for Enterprise and Education editions, compared to the year-old 24H2.

When 25H2 becomes generally available, it will be delivered as an enablement package for 24H2, ensuring a quick download and installation with minimal reboot time. This approach also ensures compatibility between the two versions, allowing apps and games to function seamlessly post-upgrade. Users eager to update can download the ISO by registering on the Windows Insider ISO website, selecting their preferred language, and following the download instructions.
