How is DEXA revolutionizing at-home drone delivery in major U.S. cities?

Drone delivery company DEXA has successfully raised $15 million in an oversubscribed seed round to enhance its operations and introduce at-home drone delivery in major U.S. metropolitan areas. This funding, raised in three $5 million stages over the years 2021, 2023, and 2025, was led by G2A Investment Partners alongside Venture 53 and Tech Square Ventures. The investment highlights DEXA’s mission to equip local retailers with competitive delivery tools akin to those used by major online retailers.

DEXA plans to utilize the capital to expand its delivery networks, onboard retail partners, and grow its presence in large metropolitan areas, aiming to transform local commerce through drone logistics. The company distinguishes itself by achieving key FAA certifications, including a Part 135 Carrier Certificate, a nationwide BVLOS waiver, and the ability to manufacture its U.S.-made aircraft. This integrated approach allows DEXA to control the entire delivery ecosystem, offering advantages in regulation and execution.

While drone delivery has been a topic of discussion for years, its implementation has been limited, especially in urban areas. DEXA’s strategy focuses on empowering independent retailers and local businesses rather than relying on central fulfillment centers. By doing so, the company aims to provide small and mid-sized retailers with the same delivery capabilities as e-commerce giants, addressing an underserved market segment. Founded in 2021 and based in Dayton, Ohio, DEXA develops its own certified aircraft and operates the DEXA NOW delivery marketplace app, striving to offer safe, fast, and eco-friendly delivery solutions.
