How will the new iPhone features enhance your travel experience?

With summer behind us, it’s never too early to plan your next getaway. A recent iOS update has introduced new features that promise to make traveling easier. While you might not completely shed the typical tourist image, these iPhone features will certainly improve your travel experience.

First up is the Digital Passport in Apple Wallet. Set to launch later this year, this feature will allow users to store their passports on their phones, simplifying the process of showing ID when traveling. Initially available to US users, the UK will soon follow suit, allowing digital driving licenses via the GOV.UK Wallet app. Android users will also have access to this feature.

Next, the calculator app now includes a currency exchange system. Users with iOS 18 or later can view exchange rates for over 200 currencies. This feature also allows for temperature conversion, aiding in weather preparation abroad. Additional scientific conversions are available for those interested.

Finally, iOS 26 introduces live translation with AirPods, compatible with multiple models. This feature enables real-time conversations in different languages through AirPods, though currently limited to a few languages and specific AirPods and iPhone models. Despite its limitations, this feature marks a significant improvement over traditional language learning apps.
