Apple leaks this week reveal details on several forthcoming devices while a class-action settlement site tied to Siri AI is now live. Leaked hardware information covers the next iPad mini, HomePod mini color options and a new Apple TV 4K, and other stories include shipping rules for the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery, comments from an Apple hardware executive about the iPhone Duo crease, the new Beats 360 headphones, and early display-size leaks for the iPhone 20 Pro.
Apple leaks: iPad mini, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K
Leaked material describes a next iPad mini powered by an A20 Pro chip, a new speaker design and a landscape front camera. Images also show the next HomePod mini arriving in new colors such as green and pink. There is evidence of an “Apple TV 4K (4th generation)” model, indicating a new Apple TV after roughly a four-year gap. A separate code leak has confirmed some rumored details for a 12th-generation iPad, though that model is not expected to launch until early next year.
Siri AI settlement website now live
Apple agreed in May to pay $250 million to settle a U.S. class action over Siri AI’s delayed launch, and the settlement website is now accepting claims. Eligible iPhone owners can submit a claim between September 21 and December 21 of this year. Apple estimates payments at about $25 per eligible iPhone, but the exact amount may be higher or lower depending on the total number of valid claims and other factors, with a maximum payment set at $95. Apple denies all allegations in the lawsuit but agreed to the settlement to avoid the costs and risks of a trial.
iPhone 18 Pro Max shipping rules and Prepare to Ship feature
The iPhone 18 Pro Max uses a single-cell battery with a capacity above 20 watt-hours, which triggers additional shipping requirements. Apple says the device employs an “innovative battery-firmware solution” that limits battery capacity to below 20 Wh between manufacture and delivery; activating the iPhone removes that limit to allow full charging capacity. For repairs, trade-ins or other shipments, customers must use a new Prepare to Ship feature that discharges the battery to below 20 Wh and sets a charge limit so the device stays under the threshold during transit.
Apple exec on iPhone Duo crease and hinge
Tom Marieb, Apple vice president of hardware engineering, said the iPhone Duo uses a matte nano-texture display intended to cut glare and reduce the visibility of the internal crease. He asked people to hold the company ‘accountable’ on crease visibility. Marieb also discussed the Duo’s hinge design and the use of Ceramic Shield 2 on the front display.
Beats 360 headphones debut
Beats announced the new Beats 360 over-ear headphones, priced at $349.99, which represent a redesign focusing on sound quality, comfort and customizability. Beats 360 is not a replacement for the Studio Pro, which will remain in the lineup at a reduced price of $299.99 (down from $349.99). Beats says the 360s use a new acoustic architecture delivering up to 1.75× more active noise cancellation and a 12 dB increase in output while maintaining clarity across frequencies with low distortion. Swappable ear and headband cushions allow visual customization, and extra cushion kits are being offered at heavily discounted prices as part of a launch promotion.
iPhone 20 Pro display size leak
An early leak shared on Weibo by the prolific Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claims iPhone 20 Pro displays will be slightly larger than iPhone 18 Pro models. The leak lists a 6.41-inch screen for the iPhone 20 Pro with a resolution of about 2,686 × 1,236 pixels, and a 6.96-inch display for the iPhone 20 Pro Max with a resolution around 2,912 × 1,340 pixels. For comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are listed at roughly 6.27 inches (rounded to 6.3 inches) and 6.86 inches (rounded to 6.9 inches) with resolutions of 2,622 × 1,206 and 2,868 × 1,320 respectively.
