Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 both include 4GB of RAM, according to Apple’s developer tool Xcode 27, doubling the memory versus the previous-generation models.
Apple Watch RAM and S11 chip
Both new models ship with 4GB of RAM; Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 models were equipped with 2GB. The Series 12 and Ultra 4 also include a new S11 chip that powers Apple Intelligence features when the watches are paired to an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
How the extra RAM supports Apple Intelligence
Apple says the increased memory will help enable new functions such as Live Rewind text snippets and Siri Recap summaries, and provide a boost to Siri AI when those features run on the S11-equipped watches paired with supported iPhones.
Pricing and market context
Despite a severe memory chip shortage that has driven up the price of RAM and led Apple to raise prices on iPhones, iPads, Macs, and more in recent months, the Series 12 and Ultra 4 start at $399 and $799 respectively in the U.S., the same starting prices as the Series 11 and Ultra 3 even with the doubled RAM.
