Are iPhone 17 and MacBook Air Users Facing a Critical Security Threat?

Apple users, particularly those with iPhone 17 and MacBook Air, have received a critical security alert from the Indian government. This warning, issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), highlights vulnerabilities in iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple devices. The alert indicates that these vulnerabilities could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code, gain elevated privileges, disclose sensitive information, bypass security restrictions, or cause denial of service conditions. Affected software versions include iOS and iPadOS prior to 26.2 and 18.7.3, macOS Tahoe prior to 26.2, macOS Sequoia prior to 15.7.3, macOS Sonoma prior to 14.8.3, tvOS prior to 26.2, watchOS prior to 26.2, visionOS prior to 26.2, and Safari prior to 26.2. Fortunately, Apple is aware of these issues and has released updates to address them. Users are advised to update their devices by navigating to Settings – General – Software Update to ensure their security.
