Are the Galaxy S26 Pro and Ultra camera specs set in stone?

The upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup, including the S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra, is generating mixed reactions due to its familiar camera specifications. The S26 Pro is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera, alongside a 12MP front camera. These specs mirror those of the previous Galaxy S25, leading to disappointment among some enthusiasts. The S26 Ultra is also anticipated to retain the S25 Ultra’s 200MP, 50MP, 50MP, and 10MP camera configuration, without any changes to the 12MP selfie camera. The S26 Edge, however, is rumored to upgrade its ultra-wide camera from 12MP to 50MP, although it will not include a telephoto sensor. Despite the lack of significant hardware changes, potential improvements through software optimizations and new sensors could enhance photography performance. While some consumers remain skeptical, others hold out hope for the Galaxy S26 series, especially with potential design changes and features like a “Privacy Display.” The S26 Edge is expected to offer a larger battery compared to its predecessor, positioning the S26 Pro as the least upgraded model in the series. Overall, while the camera specs may not excite everyone, there is cautious optimism about other potential advancements in the Galaxy S26 lineup.
