The pricing details for Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, have emerged for the South Korean market. According to recent information, these devices are expected to be unveiled in London on July 22, 2026. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 might launch at a starting price of KRW 1,683,000 (approximately $1,099), while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could be priced at KRW 2,278,000 (around $1,499). The premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is anticipated to start at KRW 2,577,000 (about $1,682). These prices are notably lower than those previously leaked for the European market, suggesting potential carrier subsidies for customers entering multi-year contracts.
Samsung plans to open pre-orders in South Korea from July 28 to August 3, 2026, with deliveries starting on August 4. The devices are expected to be generally available from August 7, 2026. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is predicted to be KRW 197,700 (approximately $130) more expensive than its predecessor at launch, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 might be KRW 101,300 (around $70) cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s initial price. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could see a price increase of KRW 198,000 (about $130) compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The cost of DRAM and NAND flash chips has surged significantly over the past year. The proportion of memory chip costs in an $800 smartphone rose from 14% in early 2025 to 40% by the third quarter of 2026.
