The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 is designed to help users locate lost items or pets through the SmartThings app, specifically using SmartThings Find. While this is a standard function for any tracker, there’s a lesser-known feature within the SmartThings app that can prevent loss altogether. The “Notify when left behind” setting alerts users when they move out of range of their SmartTag 2, reminding them of any items left behind. However, this feature may not be suitable for all situations. For instance, if you have a SmartTag 2 in your laptop bag, you might not want notifications every time you leave home without it. Despite this, the feature is a valuable safety net. To activate it, open SmartThings on your phone, navigate to Devices, select your SmartTag, and view the map. Tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen, scroll up, and enable “Notify when left behind.” You can also choose to enable notifications for movement detection. Access to the SmartThings Find map is also available through the Life tab on the main screen. Samsung offers the Galaxy SmartTag 2 individually or in discounted packs of four through its online store.
