Can Samsung Reclaim Its Throne in the Memory Chip Market?

In the first quarter of 2025, Samsung lost its position as the world’s leading memory chip manufacturer in the DRAM sector to SK Hynix. The situation worsened for Samsung in the second quarter. However, by the third quarter, Samsung appears to be on a path to reclaim its leadership. SK Hynix currently holds a 35% market share, while Samsung is close behind with 34%. Samsung has made significant progress compared to the previous quarter and is now just one percentage point behind SK Hynix. If Samsung maintains this momentum into the next quarter, it could potentially surpass SK Hynix in the DRAM market.
