Samsung has added a new classical ringtone named Chopin Nocturne Opus 9 Number 2 with the launch of One UI 9.0 on the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The addition joins this year’s cinematic take on the company’s annual Over the Horizon ringtone.
About the Chopin Nocturne
The ringtone is a piano composition inspired by Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2 and is performed by Yekwon Sunwoo, the first Korean pianist to win the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2017. A video accompanies the release, showing how the Chopin Nocturne Opus 9 Number 2 ringtone was created.
Recording, mixing and availability
The track was recorded and mixed at the Samsung Galaxy Sound Studios within the Samsung Seoul R&D Campus in South Korea, in collaboration with Sound Mirror Korea and piano technician Hyungu Kang. To deliver precise instrument placement and an immersive spatial experience, the track was mixed in Dolby Atmos. With a calm, serene tone, the composition is suited to use as an alarm and can also be set as the ringtone on Galaxy phones and tablets. The ringtone will likely be added to older Galaxy devices when the stable One UI 9.0 update rolls out; it is currently missing from the Galaxy S26 series running One UI 9.0 Beta 5.
