Could Galaxy phones soon feature Apple-like contact sharing?

Apple, Google, and Samsung frequently adopt each other’s software features. Samsung has already mirrored Apple’s Contact Poster feature, renaming it Profile Card. Now, Google is reportedly developing a feature akin to Apple’s NameDrop for contact sharing.

The latest beta version of Google Play Services has revealed a function named ‘Gesture Exchange,’ linked to NFC Data Exchange Format. It includes a feature called Contact Exchange Activity. When two phones are brought close together, this Android feature activates, allowing users to exchange contact information. Users can choose to share their own details or simply receive the other’s information.

Contact details may include name, phone number, email, and profile photo. Upon receiving contact information, users can immediately call, message, or video call without needing to save the contact first.
