The Central University of Kashmir recently wrapped up its two-day International Conference on Applied Artificial Intelligence (2AI-2026) at the Tulmulla Campus. Organized by the Department of Information Technology in partnership with the University of South Dakota and supported by Springer and CCIS, the event gathered numerous academic leaders and experts. Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath announced the launch of the university’s new M.Tech programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, emphasizing the importance of integrating ethical considerations into AI advancements. Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganaie, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, underscored AI’s transformative impact across sectors like agriculture and healthcare, advocating for responsible use that complements human intelligence. The conference featured rigorous academic evaluations, with only 118 out of 447 research papers selected for publication, showcasing the event’s high standards. The gathering highlighted AI’s interdisciplinary potential, aligning with the National Education Policy’s vision for multidisciplinary learning and innovation.
