Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro: Samsung’s 2026 flagship earbuds

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are the company’s high-end true wireless earbuds for 2026. Announced on February 25, 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 series, they are Samsung’s first wireless earbuds with Bluetooth 6.1 and bring improved Adaptive ANC, better overall audio quality and refined ergonomics.

Galaxy Buds 4 design and durability

Both models keep a stem-style silhouette with a flattened outer stem for a cleaner look. The earbuds sit in a smaller rounded-square charging case that rests horizontally and echoes the design language of the Galaxy Buds 2 series. Samsung says both the Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are easier to place in the case than their Galaxy Buds 3 series predecessors. The earbuds carry an IP57 dust and water resistance rating; the charging case itself has no IP rating but includes a USB Type-C port and supports Qi wireless charging.

Audio, codecs and drivers

The Galaxy Buds 4 series uses Bluetooth 6.1 and supports SSC-UHQ (24-bit/96kHz), SSC, LC3 (LE Audio), AAC and SBC codecs. SSC-UHQ offers a high audio data transmission rate comparable to aptX Adaptive, enabling high-bitrate audio streaming. The standard Galaxy Buds 4 use a single dynamic driver in each earbud and an open in-ear design without silicone tips. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro combine an enhanced dynamic driver with a planar tweeter in each earbud and employ an in-canal design with silicone ear tips, providing better sound isolation and superior audio quality.

Calls, AI and noise management

Both models include six microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) to improve call clarity and video recording. Super Clear Call combines hardware and AI-driven software—using deep neural network (DNN) algorithms, Super Wideband (SWB) audio for 16 kHz bandwidth and the VPU’s jaw-vibration detection—to isolate voices and reduce loud background noise. Both earbuds offer Active Noise Cancellation (with Adaptive ANC), Adaptive EQ and Adaptive Noise Control, plus 360 Audio spatialisation that follows head direction.

Connectivity, controls and assistants

The Buds 4 series supports Auracast for shared audio broadcasts, allowing multiple compatible wireless earbuds to join the same stream—for example, two or more pairs connecting simultaneously to a compatible Samsung phone or TV. Voice Control supports hands-free commands such as play, stop, next song, previous song, volume up, volume down, answer call and reject call. Physical controls include swipe gestures and a Head Gestures feature that can confirm or reject actions—like answering a call—via head tracking. The earbuds support Bixby and Gemini; users can select their preferred assistant, customise controls, check battery levels and adjust the equaliser through the Galaxy Wearable app or the Settings app on newer Galaxy phones and tablets.

Battery life and charging

Battery life varies by model and ANC use. The Galaxy Buds 4 last up to 6 hours with ANC off (up to 30 hours with the case) and up to 5 hours with ANC on (up to 24 hours with the case). The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro last up to 7 hours with ANC off (up to 30 hours with the case) and up to 6 hours with ANC on (up to 26 hours with the case). Both charging cases support charging via USB Type-C or Qi-compatible wireless chargers.

Price, colours and availability

The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro were announced on February 25, 2026 and went on sale in select markets on March 11, 2026. Both are available in Black and White. The Galaxy Buds 4 are priced at $179.99 in the US and €179.00 in Europe. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are priced at $249.99 in the US and €249.00 in Europe. Prices may vary with regional taxes and promotions.
