Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab S12+ as part of its 2026 flagship tablet lineup, joining the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and continuing the company’s two‑pronged tablet strategy. The Tab S12+ is described as the closest direct successor to a Plus model since the Galaxy Tab S10+, and it brings display, audio and thermal upgrades.
Galaxy Tab S12+ specifications
The Galaxy Tab S12+ features a 12.6‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2800 x 1752 resolution and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The display includes Vision Booster with real‑time brightness adjustments. The tablet is slightly larger and thinner than the Tab S11, measuring 187.8 x 289.5 x 5.3 mm and weighing 553 grams (Wi‑Fi) or 555 grams (5G). It carries an IP68 rating.
Under the hood the Tab S12+ uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip and a newly designed 3D vapor chamber for cooling. Storage and memory options are 256GB or 512GB paired with 12GB of RAM, and storage is expandable via microSD up to 2TB. The battery is 10,600 mAh with 45W charging.
Camera hardware comprises a 13MP rear camera and a 12MP ultra‑wide front camera. The tablet supports and includes the S Pen in the box. The device runs Android 17 with One UI 9 and is promised seven OS upgrades and seven years of security patches.
The Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra are Samsung’s first premium tablets to feature 4‑channel spatial audio; previous models had four speakers but only two channels. The audio change is presented as an upgrade intended to improve surround sound, particularly for movies and gaming.
Accessories and productivity software
Samsung says the Tab S12 is the first Android tablet to come pre‑loaded with Adobe Photoshop. Other productivity apps bundled by default include Notability, GoodNotes, LumaFusion, Notion, Clip Studio Paint, MyScript Math, MyScript Notes, Noteshelf and ArcSite.
For accessories, Samsung will sell the aluminum Pro Keyboard — previously exclusive to the Tab S11 Ultra — for both the Tab S12 Ultra and the Tab S12+. A cheaper Book Cover Keyboard Slim will also be available, along with a Book Cover and an anti‑reflective screen protector. All accessories are sold separately, while the S Pen is included with the tablet.
