Galaxy Z Fold 8 Sales Jump 10% in South Korea After iPhone Duo Launch

Galaxy Z Fold 8 sales in South Korea rose 10% week-on-week after Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo, industry analysts report, with some customers who were waiting for Apple’s announcement opting to buy Samsung’s foldable instead.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 appeal

Analysts say buyers compared weight and thickness between the devices and considered the iPhone Duo’s higher 3.29 million won (around $2,390) price point, concluding that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 was the better option. Samsung also offers the cheapest Galaxy Z Fold 8 price in its home market: the device starts at 2.28 million won (around $1,550).

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is described as thinner and lighter than the iPhone Duo, and it is available for immediate purchase in South Korea. By contrast, the iPhone Duo will not be released in South Korea until October 16.
