Samsung is planning to launch five foldable smartphones in 2027, including two wide-format foldable devices: the Galaxy Z Fold 9 and a second, currently unnamed wide-format model, according to a new report. The existence of an additional wide-format device means Samsung would ship two book-style foldables alongside other expected entries.
The company’s first 4:3 aspect ratio book-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, has been a global success and reportedly faced strong demand, a performance that appears to have encouraged Samsung to expand the lineup. The unnamed wide-format model’s name has not been revealed, so it is unclear whether it will be positioned above or below the Galaxy Z Fold 9.

Beyond the two wide-format phones, the remaining three devices cited in the report are the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 9, and Galaxy Z TriFold 2, which are described as successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z TriFold, respectively. Details such as specifications, pricing and exact launch timing were not provided in the report.
