Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra camera: Practical tips for everyday use

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra camera combines a 200MP wide sensor with a foldable design and software tools that expand everyday shooting options. Beyond high resolution, the Fold8 Ultra’s hinge and cover screen let you frame, shoot and review photos in ways a conventional phone can’t.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra camera: choose the right lens

The 200MP wide camera is the primary option for everyday subjects such as people, food and buildings, and its high-resolution mode offers extra flexibility for cropping later. For wider scenes, interiors or groups, switch to the 50MP ultra‑wide, which also supports macro photography for close-up details. The 10MP telephoto provides 3x optical zoom for portraits and subjects you cannot easily approach. Nightography processing is designed to assist with low-light photos and videos.

Use the fold and the cover screen to your advantage

Flex Mode lets you partially fold the Fold8 Ultra and place it on a stable surface to join a group shot or record yourself without a hand-held operator. Dual Preview shows composition on the cover screen so your subject can check framing while you control the camera on the main display. For selfies, you can use the cover screen as a viewfinder and shoot with the rear cameras for higher-quality results.

More options for video and more room for editing

The Fold8 Ultra can record video up to 8K resolution and supports Samsung’s APV codec, which is designed to preserve image quality through repeated editing. For handheld recording, Super Steady includes a Horizontal Lock to help keep the frame level as the phone tilts. Unfolding the phone gives you a larger canvas to check focus, framing and small details after shooting.

Photo Assist adds editing tools for moving, resizing or removing objects, filling backgrounds and describing changes with written prompts. You can compare the original and edited versions side by side on the main screen.
