Apple has concluded its service programs addressing sound issues for the original AirPods Pro and the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. These programs, which have now been removed from Apple’s active service list, provided coverage for three years from the original purchase date. Most devices are no longer eligible for service unless they were bought from old stock.
The program for the AirPods Pro, which began in October 2020, targeted problems like crackling sounds or malfunctioning Active Noise Cancellation in first-generation models manufactured before October 2020. Apple offered replacements for the affected earbuds after confirming the issue. Initially set for two years, this program’s coverage was extended to three years in 2021.
For the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, the service program focused on a faulty receiver module causing a lack of sound during calls. This program, launched in August 2021, covered devices made between October 2020 and April 2021, excluding the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Coverage, initially two years, was extended to three years in August 2022.
