Iddo Gino, renowned for founding RapidAPI at just 17 and transforming it into a unicorn, has embarked on a new venture following his departure in 2023. His latest initiative, Datawizz, was launched earlier this year with a modest team of four and has already secured $12.5 million in Seed funding—a significant amount for this stage. The funding round was spearheaded by U.S. venture capital firm Human Capital, with participation from 91VC and BGV, both previous investors in RapidAPI. Though Gino has been residing in the United States, he plans to establish R&D operations in Israel and commence local recruitment. Datawizz aims to reduce the costs associated with artificial intelligence by replacing large, generic models with smaller, specialized ones, promising faster, more cost-effective, and accurate results. This comes in response to the staggering $8.4 billion spent on API calls to large language models in the first half of 2025 alone, highlighting the rapid adoption and economic challenges faced by many applications.
