Has Lua Raised $5.8 Million to Develop an Operating System for Human and AI Collaboration?

Lua has successfully secured $5.8 million in seed funding to advance its innovative operating system aimed at enhancing collaboration between human teams and AI agents in professional settings. The funding round was spearheaded by Norrsken22, with contributions from Flourish Ventures, 20VC, P1 Ventures, Phosphor Capital, and Y Combinator, as well as individual investors like Henri Stern, Kaz Nejatian, and Med Benmansour.

Founded by Lorcan O’Cathain and Stefan Kruger, Lua is creating a platform that enables organizations to efficiently manage AI agent workforces without requiring extensive technical knowledge. This comprehensive system addresses infrastructure, model orchestration, data integration, and monitoring, allowing users to concentrate on business logic and workflow design.

The platform is accessible to both technical and non-technical users, thanks to a combination of developer tools and a user-friendly visual interface. This facilitates collaborative AI agent development and integration within existing systems. Lua presents its solution as an “operating system” for agent-driven tasks, seamlessly blending human and AI workflows.

Since the launch of its developer platform in October 2025, Lua has experienced significant growth, with revenue surging by approximately 30% each week. By February 2026, the platform had seen more AI agents created than in all previous months combined.

The recent funding will support the expansion of Lua’s developer ecosystem and the growth of its global partner community, the Lua Implementation Network, which deploys agent-based systems across diverse markets.

Lua’s model prioritizes ownership and flexibility, enabling companies to maintain control over their agent systems and economics, as opposed to relying on proprietary platforms with usage-based pricing. The company aims to provide a scalable framework for businesses to integrate AI agents into daily operations, promoting long-term efficiency.

Operating on a global scale since its inception, Lua has rolled out its platform in Africa, Asia, the United States, and Europe, underscoring its commitment to building an international user base.
