Has Samsung finally modernized its old graphical wallpapers with One UI 8.5?

One UI 8.5 is expanding to more devices, and with its arrival on the Galaxy S24+, users can explore one of its understated yet intriguing additions: new downloadable wallpapers. While this feature might seem minor, it’s worth exploring, especially given the history of Samsung’s graphical wallpapers.

The update introduces wallpapers that are not only downloadable but also interactive, a significant enhancement from the older versions. These wallpapers animate upon interaction, utilizing parallax effects and responding to screen taps, though this feature is limited to the lock screen. The home screen displays these wallpapers as static images.

Samsung has revamped its graphical wallpaper selection, initially launched with One UI 5.0, by adding two new designs, bringing the total to eight. This update ensures all wallpapers are interactive, featuring animations like a bouncing ball on a tennis court wallpaper or a basketball-themed design.

Given that animated wallpapers require more storage, Samsung wisely made them optional downloads. Users interested in trying these new features can do so by navigating to the wallpaper customization section on their One UI 8.5 device.
