In a recent earnings call, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook highlighted the overwhelming customer response to the MacBook Neo, which has prompted the company to significantly increase production. Initially set at 5 million units, shipments have reportedly been boosted to 10 million units by 2026, according to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Despite Apple’s initial optimism, the demand for the MacBook Neo has surpassed expectations, contributing to a surge in new Mac users last quarter. Market research from IDC corroborates the strong sales performance, drawing attention from competitors like Dell, which has introduced a new XPS 13 model boasting features not found on the MacBook Neo. Priced at $599, or $499 for students, the MacBook Neo is Apple’s most affordable offering, featuring the iPhone’s A18 Pro chip and vibrant color options. A successor with an A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM is anticipated next year.
