Has Thropic Games secured pre-seed funding with The Famous Group’s lead?

Thropic Games, a company specializing in casual mobile games that support fan fundraising for sports programs, has successfully completed a pre-seed funding round led by The Famous Group. Although the financial details remain undisclosed, the round attracted strategic angel investors from the gaming, fundraising, and sports sectors.

The collaboration will see The Famous Group’s Vixi stadium interactivity technology integrated into Thropic’s games, enhancing connectivity between fans at venues and those watching from home. The Vixi platform already operates in over 500 venues across 15 countries.

Thropic’s games are actively used by institutions such as Colorado, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss, as well as events like the College Basketball Crown tournament, St. Jude, and NBCUniversal. A national partnership with TheLinkU is facilitating Thropic’s expansion to additional programs, including Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Cal, Houston, Boise State, and Florida International. Fans can play for free and have the option to donate to their chosen program for a chance to win prizes.

Jon Slusser, CEO of The Famous Group, emphasized the synergy between fan engagement and fundraising, highlighting their investment in Thropic Games as a natural extension of their fan engagement solutions. Kyle Christensen, Founder and CEO of Thropic Games, remarked on the universal appeal of gaming and its potential to unite fans in supporting their teams while enjoying the experience.
