How does Bartender Pro enhance the MacBook notch?

Bartender Pro, the latest upgrade to the popular Mac menu bar management app, introduces the Top Shelf feature to the MacBook notch. This addition enhances the notch’s functionality by offering access to various utility tools such as clipboard management, file storage, audio control, and AirDrop. Users can enjoy widgets for calendar, weather, and music apps like Apple Music and Spotify, as well as a comprehensive Now Playing music controller. The feature also provides alerts for upcoming events.

Top Shelf effectively transforms the notch into a dynamic space, similar to the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. It allows users to drag files to the notch for storage or AirDrop, and manage a clipboard that can automatically capture copied content, with options to exclude passwords. Both clipboard and file storage durations are customizable.

Widgets within Top Shelf are adaptable, and the feature supports Live Activity tracking for AI agents. Information such as volume, display brightness, and battery level is readily accessible. Top Shelf integrates seamlessly with Bartender, maintaining all standard features, and it discreetly hides when not in use, even on Macs without a notch.

Bartender Pro is an optional upgrade priced at $15 annually, including Bartender 6 and future updates. Alternatively, Bartender 6 can be purchased for a one-time fee of $20, with a lifetime access option available at $80, which includes Bartender Pro. Both versions are available on the Bartender website.
