The Shortcuts app on Apple’s devices has long been a tool for automating tasks, but its complexity often deterred users who weren’t tech-savvy. With the introduction of iOS 27, this changes significantly. Now, on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, users can simply describe the desired shortcut, and Apple Intelligence will automatically create it. For instance, users can set a shortcut to activate porch lights at night upon receiving a food delivery notification. This “Describe a Shortcut” feature greatly enhances the app’s accessibility, making it appealing to a broader user base. iOS 27 is currently in beta and is anticipated for a September release.
