In Amman, Jordan Post has raised a security alert to inform the public about the protocols it uses for official communications, aiming to combat sophisticated phishing scams. The Director of Information Technology, Anas Abu Al-Sundus, stated that genuine notifications from Jordan Post are sent via standard SMS under the sender name “Jordan Post” and do not include logos, media attachments, or payment links. He highlighted that the most common scams involve emails impersonating the company, falsely claiming a shipment is delayed due to missing address information, and directing users to harmful websites that steal banking or personal data. Jordan Post never requests sensitive financial information through text or email and does not process payments via web links. The company operates solely through its official websites and verified mobile apps, with all delivery fees handled through the “eFAWATEERcom” platform or cash on delivery. Any request for payment through other digital means is fraudulent. In response, Jordan Post is working with national cybersecurity and law enforcement agencies to trace these scams. The public is advised to delete suspicious emails immediately and avoid interacting with attachments. For shipment verification or to report identity theft, citizens should contact the official call center.
