Samsung Display has introduced its latest QD-OLED panel designed for high-end monitors, boasting significant advancements over its predecessor. The new panel features increased brightness, enhanced text clarity, and extended lifespan. Mass production commenced in December 2025, and it will be adopted by seven monitor brands, including ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI.
The innovation lies in the V-Stripe sub-pixel structure, where red, green, and blue sub-pixels are aligned vertically. This arrangement significantly sharpens text, making it ideal for tasks involving extensive reading and writing, such as coding and document editing. The panel is set to rival LG’s OLED panel, which uses a similar pixel layout for improved text quality.
Previously, Samsung’s panels utilized a pentile sub-pixel layout, which resulted in less sharp text compared to LCD panels. The new QD-OLED panels also achieve up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness and feature a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio with a 360Hz variable refresh rate, making them suitable for both gaming and productivity. Samsung has enhanced organic material efficiency and optimized design to achieve these improvements.
