iOS 27.2 Adds Per‑Action Toggles for Messages’ Suggested Actions

iOS 27.2 returns Suggested Actions to the Messages app and introduces granular controls that let users hide specific one‑tap suggestions and enable a “Hide Unused Suggestions” option.

Suggested Actions first appeared during the iOS 27 beta cycle but were removed from the final iOS 27 release. The feature has reappeared in iOS 27.2 beta 3, where code explorer pdfu discovered a new settings screen that offers separate toggles for individual suggestions.

iOS 27.2 Suggested Actions controls

The new settings screen in iOS 27.2 beta 3 provides individual switches for Suggested Actions including “Add to Calendar,” “Add to Reminders,” “Add to Notes,” “Show in Maps,” and “Flights and Packages.” A global “Hide Unused Suggestions” switch will stop showing suggestions that haven’t been used after 30 days. According to the screenshot shared by pdfu, hidden suggestions can be reactivated by toggling their individual switches off and then back on.

Other iOS 27.2 features and timing

Beyond Messages, iOS 27.2 includes Apple’s redesigned Health app with new Insight and Longevity tabs and adds Siri AI in new languages. The update contains several other changes listed in the available features guide.

Apple released an iOS 27.2 beta ahead of an iOS 27.1 beta; the company plans to ship the iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 and appears to be keeping some iPhone Duo features under wraps. The iPhone Duo will launch on October 23. Apple previously said the new Siri AI languages in iOS 27.2 would be available in October, so it is likely iOS 27.2 will be released shortly after the iPhone Duo’s launch.
