Apple has officially entered the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Duo, unveiled at its September 9 event. The new model introduces a book-style foldable design to the iPhone lineup and is positioned for multitasking, gaming and media consumption.
iPhone Duo Design and display
The iPhone Duo opens like a book to reveal a 7.6-inch inner display and offers a 5.4-inch outer screen when closed. Apple says the foldable phone has its largest iPhone display yet. The device features a titanium frame and hinge cover, and Apple says it has worked on the display and hinge to provide a smoother foldable experience while keeping the phone thin and portable.
Camera, performance and software
The phone is equipped with a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system and is powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, the same chip used in the iPhone 18 Pro series. The iPhone Duo uses a dual-battery system and supports MagSafe wireless charging. It runs iOS 27, which Apple says has been redesigned to take advantage of the larger foldable screen and to offer improved multitasking features.
Price and availability in India
In India, the iPhone Duo starts at Rs 2,99,900 for the 256GB model. Storage options include 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, with prices reaching up to Rs 4,49,900. The phone is offered in Star White and Night Sky colours. Pre-orders in India begin on October 16, and the device will go on sale from October 23, 2026.
With its foldable format, large display and upgraded hardware, the iPhone Duo marks a major new step for Apple in the premium smartphone market.
