iPhone Duo availability: where to buy, pickup, and wait times

Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, officially launched today, Friday October 23. Pre-order deliveries are arriving to customers, but supply is extremely tight; those who did not pre-order may still be able to buy one in person depending on local availability, although Apple expects supply to sell out quickly.

Where to buy iPhone Duo today

Apple said earlier this week that Apple Stores will have limited iPhone Duo stock for walk-in customers today in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Mexico, and several European countries. Walk-in purchases will not be possible in France, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the UAE, where customers must use a pickup reservation.

Pre-orders and wait times

Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo began on October 16. Within the first 30 minutes of pre-orders opening, shipping estimates for newly placed orders on Apple’s online store were pushed back to January 25. Pre-order deliveries are arriving to customers today, and Apple’s U.S. online store advised customers to check back on Saturday, October 24 for Apple Store pickup reservations, suggesting stock levels may be replenished quickly.

Stock levels can vary by store and region. At Apple Edinburgh, a customer was able to buy an iPhone Duo early this morning; staff there said they had received more units than expected, a situation that Apple warned is unlikely to be mirrored at all locations.

Pricing, configurations and purchase limits

In the U.S., Apple is limiting purchases to two iPhone Duo units per customer. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model and is available in Star White and Night Sky. Other storage options and prices are 512GB ($2,199), 1TB ($2,599), and 2TB ($3,199).

Availability will depend on local stock and reservation rules, and Apple has said it expects supply to sell out quickly.
