iPhone Duo confirmed to have larger battery than Galaxy Z Fold 8

Apple’s iPhone Duo has a larger combined battery capacity than Samsung’s newest book-style foldables, according to the phone’s EPREL listing published just before global preorders opened last weekend. The EPREL entry lists a combined capacity of 4,883mAh and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

Comparison with Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra

That 4,883mAh total exceeds the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s rated capacity of 4,660mAh and its typical marketed capacity of 4,800mAh. The iPhone Duo also edges out the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is listed with a rated capacity of 4,854mAh and a typical capacity of 5,000mAh.

iPhone Duo battery specs and endurance

The EPREL label shows the iPhone Duo’s rated battery endurance as 51 hours and 30 minutes per charge cycle. That is slightly lower than the iPhone 18 Pro’s 52-hour endurance and substantially lower than the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s 62-hour endurance. By comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s battery endurance is listed at 44 hours and 10 minutes, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra reaches 51 hours and 10 minutes.

Samsung’s foldables are listed with better free-fall reliability, holding a Class B rating versus the iPhone Duo’s Class C. Their batteries are also rated for longer-term longevity, with 1,200 charge cycles compared with the iPhone Duo’s 1,000 charge cycles.
