A report from Mark Gurman says Apple is widely expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone today during an event that starts at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, and the device will be called the iPhone Duo rather than previously rumored names such as iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold.

The iPhone Duo will support Apple Pencil. Shipments to customers could begin as early as October, while it is unclear if pre-orders will start earlier. Color options are reported as white and dark blue. Storage will start at 256GB, and U.S. pricing is expected to begin at around $1,999. The device will use Apple’s A20 Pro chip and a C2 modem for 5G. The rear camera system is said to include dual 48-megapixel sensors and will not include a telephoto camera. Like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8, the iPhone Duo is expected to open like a book; the large inner display will be positioned for watching movies and gaming and will support side-by-side iOS apps and other multitasking features.
