iPhone Ultra pricing and specs: $2,099+ starting, top models over $3,000

A Taiwanese research firm, TrendForce, says Apple’s forthcoming foldable iPhone is expected to start at $2,099 to $2,299 in the U.S., with highest-end configurations potentially exceeding $3,000. The device, reported to be called the iPhone Ultra, would thus become the most expensive iPhone to date, well above the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s $1,199 starting price. TrendForce published the estimates ahead of Apple’s event on Wednesday, September 9.

iPhone Ultra price and positioning

TrendForce’s pricing range places the foldable iPhone — referred to in earlier reports as the iPhone Ultra — firmly above existing flagship models. According to TrendForce, some top configurations could surpass the $3,000 mark, making the model the priciest iPhone Apple has offered.

Reported specifications

The firm outlined a set of estimated specifications for the foldable device: an outer 5.5-inch OLED display and a 7.8-inch inner OLED display with ProMotion support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also said to include Touch ID and to run on an A20 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process. Memory and storage figures reported by TrendForce include 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. Camera specifications listed are a 24-megapixel front camera, a 48-megapixel rear Wide camera and a 48-megapixel rear Ultra Wide camera.

With Apple’s September 9 event approaching, these details from TrendForce outline the expected price points and hardware for the company’s first foldable iPhone, which will be revealed at the event if Apple follows the current schedule.
