Professor Andy Asare will chair the event on June 27, 2026, at 3 pm GMT. The conference will focus on how emerging technologies can revolutionize sectors in developing nations, especially in Africa. Despite infrastructure challenges, Africa is making significant strides in digital transformation. The event is timely for Ghana, following the government’s launch of a $250 million National Artificial Intelligence Strategy to boost economic growth and digital transformation. Prof. Asare believes there are endless opportunities for young people in Ghana and beyond, including remote global careers and using data analytics to address local challenges.
Professor Asare has been instrumental in enhancing tech talent in Africa, leading various capacity-building initiatives over the past 12 years. A former student in Ghana, he has organized data science bootcamps and collaborated on data programs in Rwanda and Kenya. His efforts include developing curricula for machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI applications, as well as supporting the creation of online data science programs.
