In 2025, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, marking the debut of the industry’s first ultra-thin smartphone featuring high-end hardware. Apple soon followed with the launch of the iPhone Air. However, both models have faced disappointing sales figures. As a result, Samsung has opted not to release a successor to its ultra-thin flagship, the anticipated Galaxy S26 Edge. In contrast, Apple appears committed to advancing its ultra-thin design with the upcoming iPhone Air 2. This new model is expected to boast two rear cameras, unlike the single camera on the iPhone 17 Air, potentially adding an ultra-wide lens. Surprisingly, Apple plans to offer this new iteration at a reduced price compared to its predecessor, a move that defies the company’s usual pricing strategy and the general trend of rising smartphone costs due to memory shortages.
