Is Apple Preparing for a Foldable iPhone Launch in 2026?

Apple is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its first foldable iPhone, expected in 2026. The tech giant is accumulating essential components like foldable OLED displays, titanium frames, and intricate hinge systems, signaling the transition into a critical pre-production phase. This phase involves suppliers increasing output to ensure a smooth production process for the anticipated device. The foldable iPhone is said to resemble Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold, featuring a book-style mechanism. It will offer a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner screen, which is designed to be crease-free and may include an under-screen camera. The device will integrate Touch ID in the side button for authentication and house a dual-lens rear camera. The frame is expected to be a blend of titanium and aluminum, potentially incorporating Liquidmetal for added durability. The foldable iPhone is anticipated to be part of the iPhone 18 series, launching in September 2026.
