Is Liancheng building a smart, connected pump factory?

Liancheng advances its digital transformation by building a smart pump factory that links equipment, IT systems and data-driven operations. The group is deploying an integrated industrial architecture — OT, IT and Data — to digitize the full lifecycle from customer order to delivery, and to strengthen process control, traceability and remote maintenance.

The project rolls out in three phases: establish a connected factory architecture, equip the shop floor with intelligent tools, and institute lean, transparent production management. The stated goal is to remove information silos between enterprise systems and automated controls to make manufacturing more flexible and controllable.

Connected architecture: OT, IT and data at the core
Liancheng layers application services, platforms, network, control and infrastructure through Industrial Internet of Things and digital technologies. This integration centralizes operational streams — CRM, ERP, MES, WMS — together with machine data, feeding a cloud platform dedicated to operations control and supervision.

Shop-floor data and the digital twin
In partnership with a telecom operator, the group developed an edge acquisition gateway that collects data from PLCs (run/stop status, liquid levels, solenoid valve feedback, flow rates). Data is transmitted via 4G, wired networks or Wi‑Fi to the cloud platform, where monitoring tools enable a digital-twin view of pumps, valves and complete water-supply systems, facilitating remote operation and oversight.

From CRM to WMS: a coordinated information flow
Orders follow a CRM → ERP → MES → WMS → delivery chain. Sales teams use the Fxiaoke platform to manage leads; orders feed the ERP, which consolidates commercial needs, pre-series orders and inventory to produce a plan that is refined and pushed into the MES. The WMS handles requisitions and stock movements through to shipment preparation.

Production equipment and test capacity
Liancheng has established a national Class I pump test center and deployed more than 2,000 production and inspection assets, including horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, multi-axis gantry milling machines, automated machining lines, laser cutting systems, grinding machines, metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs), dynamic balancing rigs and portable spectrometers. These assets underpin machining precision, throughput and quality control.

Lean production and digital resource management
The company combines ERP, MES, cloud IoT and a factory operations cockpit to orchestrate personnel, machines and materials. Liancheng uses QR codes, big data and lean modeling to assign tasks precisely based on resource availability and performance, enabling dynamic shop-floor configuration and improved visibility for managers, operators and suppliers.

Process, machine and quality transparency
The transformation aims for end-to-end visibility: tracking materials from shop-floor entry, continuous collection of machine KPIs (hours, consumption, incidents), and recording quality data at each stage (initial checks, in-process inspections, final verifications). The system also includes employee performance indicators with targets and real-time monitoring to drive continuous improvement.

Outcome
By converging OT, IT and Data and deploying edge-to-cloud monitoring and digital twins, Liancheng expects greater process control, faster decision-making, enhanced traceability and improved capabilities for remote and predictive maintenance.
