Is OnePlus pulling out of Europe and the US?

OnePlus is reportedly preparing to withdraw from European and U.S. markets, according to a report; an official announcement from the Chinese brand is expected in the coming days. The move would come as the smartphone industry faces a difficult period, driven in part by a surge in memory-chip prices tied to the AI boom and ongoing supply pressures.

OnePlus prepares to exit Western markets
The report states that OnePlus is poised to leave Europe and the United States, with institutional communication imminent. This follows earlier rumors that the brand was greatly scaling back its international operations—rumors that OnePlus denied earlier in the year. The company is also now selling OPPO-branded products through its website, a sign of a tightening focus on distribution channels.

Absorption by OPPO and the end of OxygenOS
OnePlus and Realme are both part of OPPO, and the parent company is said to be moving to fully absorb its subsidiaries while keeping their names as product lines within its catalogue. As part of that consolidation, OPPO reportedly plans to replace OxygenOS—the software skin currently used on OnePlus phones—with its own ColorOS. These changes would affect both commercial organization and the software experience offered to users.

A constrained industry backdrop
The report highlights that the mobile industry is under cost pressure and facing component shortages—especially memory—whose prices have risen sharply because of AI-driven demand. In this strained environment, strategic consolidation and rationalization decisions by Chinese groups are logical. The shift could also reshape competitive positions in Western markets.

An official confirmation expected in the coming days should clarify the scope, timeline and implications of the move.
