Is Onyx’s new funding a game-changer for Microsoft CSPs?

Onyx has secured a multi-million-pound funding round aimed at expanding its international reach and enhancing its platform. Founded in 2024 by former SoftwareOne executives Neil Lomax and Chris Brown, Onyx is focused on helping Microsoft partners grow their CSP businesses. The company’s CSP Growth Engine is designed to assist MSPs in seizing new revenue opportunities as Microsoft transitions customers from legacy Enterprise Agreements to a CSP model. This shift could potentially expand the CSP market to $147 billion by fiscal year 2028. Lomax emphasized that Microsoft is now prioritizing genuine growth and customer outcomes over merely shifting customers between partners. This new incentive model aligns with Onyx’s mission to provide partners with the tools and intelligence needed to adapt and thrive in the evolving landscape. Jamie Tomalin from Triple Point Ventures highlighted the importance of Onyx’s initiative, noting the significance of the team behind it.
