The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has taken a significant step towards integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the educational framework of Punjab by hosting a two-day National-Level Conference on AI. Held at the CII Northern Region Headquarters, the event concluded with practical workshops led by Google and Intel, aiming to embed AI responsibly into classrooms.
The conference gathered policymakers, educators, and technology leaders to collaboratively develop a roadmap for AI in education, focusing on improving learning quality, widening access, and equipping students to become creators rather than mere consumers of technology. Dr. Amarpal Singh, Chairman of PSEB, highlighted the importance of ethical AI use, encouraging students to make informed choices about technology, akin to selecting good companions. He stressed the need for AI to enhance learning while adhering to ethical and legal standards.
Google’s sessions emphasized AI’s transformative educational role, highlighting the readiness of academic stakeholders to adopt AI-driven methods. Intel’s workshop, “AI in the Workplace,” attracted over 112 participants, offering practical AI tool deployment training with a focus on data privacy and responsible use.
Another workshop, “AI in Schools for School Leaders,” conducted by IKG PTU, was tailored for school principals, focusing on AI integration in leadership and management while maintaining academic integrity. Meanwhile, Neeev AI’s student-centric workshop introduced AI applications, encouraging responsible experimentation and fostering foundational AI understanding.
Students were educated on AI development processes and skill requirements, inspiring many to explore AI and emerging fields. The conference saw enthusiastic participation from Punjab’s students, whose curiosity and adaptability underscored the potential for AI-driven learning advancements. Dr. Amarpal commended Elix Events for their role in the successful execution of the conference.
