Is Samsung Testing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S26 Series?

The launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is still a few months away, yet the company is already hard at work on its new flagship lineup. As these devices near mass production, Samsung has commenced testing the One UI 8.5 software. Set for an early 2026 release, the lineup is expected to bring a range of new features and enhancements.

The Galaxy S26 series will likely include three or possibly four models: the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra, with a potential addition of the Galaxy S26+. Firmware builds for the Edge and Ultra models have been spotted on Samsung’s servers, indicating active testing of One UI 8.5. These builds have appeared across multiple regions, including Korea and the United States.

Beyond software, the Galaxy S26 series is rumored to feature notable design changes, such as a return to a distinct camera bump and a thinner body profile for better ergonomics. Equipped with Samsung’s next-gen Exynos 2600 chipset and AI-centric enhancements, the S26 lineup aims to be one of the company’s most refined offerings.

With One UI 8.5 in development, Samsung’s early 2026 launch schedule seems on track. More information about the hardware, AI improvements, and the potential inclusion of the Plus model should be revealed in the coming weeks.
