The timeline outlined in the report calls for four Galaxy S launches in H1 2027 — the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Ultra and a new S27 Pro — followed by four foldable models in H2. Based on available information, the foldable lineup would include the Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9, a Fold 9 Ultra variant, and a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold. The report adds that Samsung has already shared initial TriFold project details with supply-chain partners and that the device is in the early stages of development.
What the Galaxy Z TriFold would bring (and its limits)
The Galaxy Z TriFold revives the dual-hinge design that unfolds into a near-tablet surface: roughly a 10-inch display in a 4:3 aspect ratio, better suited to media consumption, gaming and multitasking than a conventional foldable. That form factor delivers a larger, more immersive screen experience but comes with trade-offs: the device is heavier, costlier, and less comfortable to operate one-handed due to its size and two-hinge construction.
