Samsung has rolled out a significant software update for the Galaxy M55, a mid-range device released two years ago. The One UI 8.5 update is now available in India and is expected to reach other countries soon. This update, designed for the Snapdragon-powered phone, introduces numerous features and enhancements.
The update, identified by firmware version M556BXXU5DZE3, includes the May 2026 security patch and has a download size of approximately 3GB. It offers refreshed UI visuals, a customizable Quick Panel, and an upgraded Bixby capable of understanding natural language better. Users will also find new filters in the Camera app, an automatic lock screen layout feature, and more options for lock screen clock customization.
Additional improvements include Direct Voicemail, enhanced Clock and Weather apps, and a new Storage Share feature. The Clock app now features a time zone converter, while the Weather app provides a pollen index and an improved widget. Users can create shortcuts for frequently accessed displays in Wireless DeX, and Samsung Notes now supports tables and tapes. Samsung Internet introduces a revamped New Tab page design, and the update allows for partial screen recordings and early alerts for reminders.
For Galaxy M55 owners in India, the update can be accessed by navigating to Settings > Software update and selecting Download and install. Ensure the device has at least a 30% battery charge before installation.
