The Samsung Galaxy S24 series, launched in January 2024, has been well-received in India. While the Galaxy S24 and S24+ feature the Exynos 2400, the Ultra model is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Snapdragon variant, previously available only in other regions, has recently made its debut in India, sparking excitement among consumers.
During Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale, the Galaxy S24 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was introduced at a competitive price of INR 39,999 for the base model, significantly lower than the Exynos version. This attractive pricing and enhanced performance have drawn many buyers.
However, some early adopters of the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S24 are experiencing connectivity issues with Jio’s 5G network. Users report that their devices are only connecting to 4G+, despite other nearby devices accessing 5G without issues. This problem appears to be specific to Jio users and is not universally experienced.
A potential workaround has been suggested: users should insert their SIM card into another 5G-compatible phone to activate 5G, then return the SIM to the Galaxy S24. This method reportedly resolves the issue for some, although it remains unverified.
Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 8 update, which may address this connectivity problem. If the workaround proves ineffective, it is crucial for Samsung to investigate and resolve the issue promptly. Updates will be provided as Samsung releases further information or solutions.
