Is Windows 12.2 the future of Microsoft’s operating systems?

Microsoft is reportedly exploring new horizons beyond Windows 11, with rumors suggesting that Windows 12 is in development. While the company remains silent, hints from Microsoft’s Windows lead, Pavan Davuluri, suggest a future operating system that leverages AI to enhance user experience. Concept designer Abdi has envisioned Windows 12.2, showcasing a customizable, Fluent design that includes nods to past Windows versions like Windows 7 and 10. As Microsoft plans to end support for Windows 10 by 2025, the company faces challenges in persuading users to transition to Windows 11, which has faced criticism for its design and system requirements. Despite this, Windows 11 has recently become the most popular desktop OS, indicating a gradual shift among users. However, many Windows 10 users remain resistant, with some considering alternatives like Linux. Microsoft’s strategy appears to focus on AI integration as it moves away from its traditional software model.
