Leaked Galaxy S26 FE firmware contains an asset apparently intended for One UI 9.5 — a banner for the software update menu — and also includes the phone’s default wallpapers, which match those used on the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra.
One UI 9 remains limited to the Galaxy S26 series and Samsung’s Galaxy Z8 foldables, so sightings of One UI 9.5 material were not widely expected beyond routine signs that the software is in development.
The banner extracted from the firmware is designed for the software update screen, where Galaxy users check for and install new updates.
One UI 9.5 banner design
Samsung introduced large images that occupy roughly half the screen in the software update menu with One UI 8.5. The One UI 8.5 banner used large circular shapes, One UI 9 arranged them to resemble the number 9, and the One UI 9.5 banner abandons that approach in favor of three large curved pink lines.
The presence of the One UI 9.5 asset in the Galaxy S26 FE firmware does not mean the firmware itself is based on One UI 9.5. Samsung often adds assets for future software versions to existing firmware well before actually using them.
Unless Samsung makes major changes to its update rollout, the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to ship with One UI 9 out of the box. One UI 9.5 will most likely debut with the Galaxy S27 lineup in 2027, though a beta program for existing devices may launch toward the end of the year.
Aside from the update banner and the extracted wallpapers, the Galaxy S26 FE firmware does not reveal further details about One UI 9.5.
