Pinnacle Targets Saudi Venture Capital with Growth and Secondary Fund

Pinnacle has launched a new investment fund focused on venture capital investments in growth companies and secondary transactions in Saudi Arabia, aiming to give investors access to a select set of Saudi growth companies while strengthening liquidity across the Kingdom’s venture capital ecosystem.

The fund provides investors with exposure to leading growth-stage companies through early-stage funding rounds and secondary deals, enabling backing of companies that have already demonstrated strong performance and creating additional liquidity opportunities for existing shareholders and investors.

Why Pinnacle Sees Potential in Saudi Venture Capital

Pinnacle’s move reflects what it describes as a new stage of maturity in Saudi Arabia’s venture capital market, marked by the emergence of strong and profitable growth companies. At the same time, the market still faces relatively limited liquidity and exit options compared with more developed markets. By combining growth capital with secondary investments, the fund aims to address that gap and support liquidity for existing investors while providing additional funding sources for technology companies.

Sector focus: technology themes targeted

The fund will concentrate on technology companies across four sectors that Pinnacle identifies as having strong long-term growth drivers:
– FinTech: supported by rapid regulatory development and a continued shift toward digital financial services.
– Future of Cities and Quality of Life: driven by Riyadh’s transformation into a global city and rising demand for housing, mobility, real estate and urban services.
– E-commerce: where the gap between Saudi e-commerce penetration and levels seen in global markets creates significant opportunities for growth and expansion.
– Health & Lifestyle: supported by rising health awareness and growing demand for preventive healthcare services.

Supporting a broader investment cycle

The fund is intended to help strengthen the investment infrastructure around Saudi technology companies by widening the investment cycle beyond initial startup financing to include growth capital, secondary liquidity and potential exits. As more startups mature into profitable growth companies, access to these forms of capital and viable exit pathways is becoming increasingly important to the continued development of the ecosystem.
