Should you hurry to buy a Samsung device?

The rising popularity of AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, and Perplexity has significantly increased the demand for AI technology, which heavily relies on high-bandwidth memory (HBM). This surge in demand has led to a shortage in memory supply, causing prices to escalate. Consequently, the production costs for memory-intensive devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops are climbing. Additionally, the costs of OLED display panels, camera modules, and labor are on the rise, with brands also investing more in marketing due to fierce competition. As a result, many companies, including Samsung, are considering raising the prices of their products, particularly mid-range models with slimmer profit margins. Samsung is reportedly planning to increase the prices of its Galaxy A series smartphones in India by up to INR 2,000 (approximately $22) and is expected to launch its new Galaxy S26 series at a higher price than previous models.
